TTRA Canada Conference Preview – The Silent Auction

The popular Silent Auction is coming to the TTRA Canada Conference, September 28-30, 2016 in Edmonton, Alberta. Proceeds go towards the transportation and accommodation cost of student award winners.

The 2016 TTRA Canada conference ( in Edmonton is just around the corner offering amazing learning and networking opportunities. We are expecting around 100 delegates from the private sector, academia, and government. Registration ( is still open. Whether you are interested in the intersection between research and storytelling, big data, marketing research in digital spaces, or data visualization, our program ( offers fantastic speakers and in-depth learning opportunities for all.

Student members are a vital part of TTRA Canada. Their work tackles new problematics and offers unique perspectives on existing questions. Our organization is committed to supporting the future of Canadian tourism research through various student awards. Our Silent Auction is a fundraising event used to assist student award winners with travel to the conference to accept their award in person.

This year’s Silent Auction will feature a bucket-list trip to the Sunrise Festival ( in Inuvik, NWT for two. The 4 days/3 nights package includes return airfare from Edmonton, accommodation, and the opportunity to celebrate the return of the sun after thirty days of Arctic winter darkness. Additional items include a pair of Toronto Raptors basketball tickets, a free night stay at The Sutton Place Hotel, gift baskets, books, and much more from our generous members and partner organizations!
