Canada is a country that is situated in the northernmost part of North America. Canada is also known to be the second-largest country in the whole world, spanning over 3,000 miles from the Pacific to the Atlantic and covering almost 10 million square kilometers.

Thirteen self-governing units make up Canada, ten of which are provinces and three of which are territories. This country is home to not only thousands but millions of lakes here; not even the lakes of the rest of the world can beat this count. With millions of lakes, it would not be surprising that Canada holds the largest source of freshwater.

You can also consider Canada as a mosaic of the biogeographic realm in which it is categorized into six geographical regions, namely: The Arctic and Taiga, Central Plains, Western and Pacific mountains, Boreal Shield, Mixedwood Plains, and the Atlantic.
